DOES NOT CAUSE SPLINTERS

Whether it’s a fabric or not remains to be determined but there’s no doubt that German design student Elisa Strozyk’s wooden creation is one of the most interesting textiles we’ve seen in a long time.

From afar, they appear rigid and architectural. Up close, they’re suprisingly fluid. The carpets and rugs are most intriguing when throw to the floor — its shap spasms into a fractal pile until it’s moved again.

While current applications include rugs and panels for tables and cabinets, the possibilities of this old-is-new-again textile are endless!
