Japanese designer Akihiro Kumagaya’s eye-catching ashtray is deodorizing, antiseptic and it even boasts dust control action. Or that’s what we’re told anyway — all of these are apparently properties of charcoal, which is what the ashtray is composed of.

It’s also, naturally, burn resistant.
